We exclude every ingredient on the EU restricted list — about 1,800 in total. That includes parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrance, formaldehyde-releasers, and silicones. You can read the full exclusion list on every product page.

Every Vellum formula is fragrance-free, pH-balanced, and tested on a 60-person sensitive-skin panel before release. We also include a 10-day consumer in-use trial. Of course, every skin is different — if you’re unsure, our Skin Quiz recommends the right starting routine for you.

Yes. Vellum is Leaping Bunny certified — we do not test on animals, our suppliers do not test on animals, and we do not sell in markets that require animal testing. The certification is renewed annually.

Most products are vegan. The two exceptions are our Restorative Honey Mask (which contains organic Manuka honey) and our Hydrating Lip Treatment (which contains beeswax). Both are clearly labeled and we’re happy to recommend vegan alternatives.
