Vellum’s lab is in Echo Park. Every formula goes through six rounds of clinical testing, two consumer in-use studies, and a board-certified derm review before it ships. Then it goes through yours.

  • 1,800-ingredient screen. We exclude every ingredient on the EU restricted list — even where US law still allows it.

  • Clinically active dosages. We list the % of every active on the front of the bottle. If it’s under the studied threshold, it doesn’t go in.

  • Recyclable, refillable glass. Refills ship in 92% post-consumer paper. The bottle stays in your cabinet for the next ten years.

What’s your return policy?
Try Vellum risk-free for 60 days. If your skin doesn’t love it, we’ll refund the full purchase — even if the bottle is empty. Just email hello@vellumbeauty.co and we’ll handle the rest. No return shipping required.
How long does shipping take?
Domestic US orders ship same-day if placed by 2pm PT. Standard shipping (3–5 business days) is free over $50. Expedited 2-day and next-day options at checkout. We carbon-offset every package.
What ingredients do you exclude?
We exclude every ingredient on the EU restricted list — about 1,800 in total. That includes parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic fragrance, formaldehyde-releasers, and silicones. You can read the full exclusion list on every product page.
Is Vellum safe for sensitive skin?
Every Vellum formula is fragrance-free, pH-balanced, and tested on a 60-person sensitive-skin panel before release. We also include a 10-day consumer in-use trial. Of course, every skin is different — if you’re unsure, our Skin Quiz recommends the right starting routine for you.
Is Vellum cruelty-free?
Yes. Vellum is Leaping Bunny certified — we do not test on animals, our suppliers do not test on animals, and we do not sell in markets that require animal testing. The certification is renewed annually.
Are products vegan?
Most products are vegan. The two exceptions are our Restorative Honey Mask (which contains organic Manuka honey) and our Hydrating Lip Treatment (which contains beeswax). Both are clearly labeled and we’re happy to recommend vegan alternatives.
